The purchase price is only the opening number. Budget for shipping, batteries, spare parts, charging equipment, software licenses, warranty coverage, insurance, and training. If the robot will operate around customers or employees, consider site safety, supervision, and clear operating procedures too.
A lower-priced robot may be the better deal if it has an active developer community, accessible documentation, replaceable components, and software that you can actually use. A spectacular demo is not the same as a product you can maintain for two years.
What Humanoids Can Do Right Now
Today’s best humanoid robots are impressive, but their abilities need context.
